Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour Reunite Amid Bullying Claims

All eyes were on Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour at the Stranger Things world premiere red carpet amid claims of issues between the two costars.

Brown, 21, and Harbour, 50, arrived together during the Thursday, November 6, event in Los Angeles, which celebrated the season 5 premiere of their Netflix series. In a video shared via both Netflix and Stranger Things’ official Instagram accounts, the actors were seen hugging and joking around in a playful display as they interacted with Stranger Things fans on the carpet.

The highly-anticipated run-in between the duo came days after news broke on Saturday, November 1, that Brown reportedly “filed a harassment and bullying claim” against Harbour “before they started shooting the last season.”

“There were pages and pages of accusations,” a source told the Daily Mail, which was first to report the news. According to the outlet, there was a subsequent investigation into Brown’s allegations that “went on for months.”

Brown, who plays Eleven on the Netflix series, reportedly claimed in her filing that Harbour, who portrays her adoptive father, Jim Hopper, bullied and harassed her on set. There were no allegations of sexual misconduct, according to the outlet.

While the outcome of the reported investigation into Harbour’s actions have not been released, the Daily Mail claimed that Brown had a representative on set with her throughout season 5, which wrapped in December 2024.

Us Weekly previously reached out to Brown, Harbour and Netflix for comment, all of which have yet to publicly speak out about the alleged allegations.

Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour’s Quotes About Working Together

Harbour has costarred alongside Brown on Stranger Things since season 1 in 2016. As one of the few adults on set to start the series, Harbour previously weighed in on his worries about the young stars becoming so famous so fast. (Brown was only 11 when the series began filming.)

“I think the problem with young fame is that it’s very exciting, you know? It’s very exciting to have people think you’re a genius, but you don’t really want to be a genius at 11 years old,” Harbour told Esquire UK in a profile published on Saturday. “Any sort of protégé … I mean, look at what happened to Mozart or whatever. It’s not a long life.”

The actor explained that his “selfish desire” was for all his younger counterparts to be able to “explore their artistry and their instruments to the fullest of their potential,” including working into their 70s and beyond.

Harbour confessed, “I would get very worried for them, but as any parent knows, it’s hopeless and nothing works. You just offer what you can and then watch, and you’re just there for them if they need you.”

He noted that he had to learn how to be a mentor without overstepping. “That’s where I discovered my place for them. I’m always here to help them out, but they’re on their own path. It’s a wild path, but they all seem to be doing great,” Harbour added.

While Harbour spoke fondly of the Stranger Things kids he watched grow up, Brown hinted at tension with her TV dad during a resurfaced interview with MTV from March 2024.

During the interview, Brown spoke with MTV about her impending nuptials to Jake Bongiovi, whom she wed in May 2024. After the reporter suggested she have a Stranger Things-inspired ceremony, Brown joked about shaving her head to match her character Eleven’s iconic style.

However, when the journalist said, “Harbour is officiating,” Brown squinted her eyes before saying, “Yes,” pausing and saying “yes” again. “I don’t know how I feel [about that]. Sure,” she added with a laugh.

The actress proceeded to instead pitch Matthew Modine, who plays Martin Brenner, as the officiant, who would go on to actually marry Brown and Bongiovi, 23, on their special day.

Brown later revealed the reason why she had Modine, 66, officiant at her wedding, telling Jimmy Fallon, “The second Jake proposed, I said, ‘I know who needs to marry us. It’s my papa.’”

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this year, Brown explained the ceremony was “perfect.”

Brown and Biongovi have since expanded their family, announcing in August that they welcomed their first baby, a daughter, via adoption.
