Following its 4-3 victory at UMass Lowell in America East quarterfinal action, the University of Maine field hockey team is set to travel to Vermont to meet the No. 1 seed Catamounts in semifinal action on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.
The Black Bears, who won their last postseason conference title in 2021, carry a 13-25 all-time mark in America East tournament play into Tuesday’s semifinal meeting. A year ago, Maine defeated UC Davis in the quarterfinal round before dropping a 5-3 decision to New Hampshire in the league’s semifinals.
Maine and Vermont last met under a week ago with the Catamounts earning a 4-1 victory in the regular season finale for both teams on Oct. 30. Eloise Penty scored the lone goal for the Black Bears in the game while Rozárie Mrázová made 10 saves.
