Selling Sunset is all about the drama — and the real estate — but which agents still have active licenses to sell homes?

The reality series, which debuted in 2019, became an overnight success for Netflix as viewers were introduced to employees at high-end Los Angeles real estate brokerage The Oppenheim Group. Since its premiere, the show’s stars have debunked claims that they aren’t actual employees selling property.

According to the California Department of Real Estate, every cast member from season 9 has active real estate licenses — except Amanza Smith and Chelsea Lazkani. Chrishell Stause has had her license since 2016 and her most recent sale was in February.

Mary Bonnet, meanwhile, joined the real estate industry in 2008 and is now the vice president of The Oppenheim Group. Emma Hernan has been active since 2019 and her last reported sale in the MLS was in June 2024.

‘Selling Sunset’ Stars Then vs Now: What They Looked Like Before the Show

Bre Tiesi sold her most recent home in 2025 but has had an active license since 2017. Nicole Young, who got her license in 2016, sold a home in May. Season 8 newbie Alanna Gold received her license in 2020 and her last sale was in November 2023. Newcomer Sandra Vergara got her license in May.

As for Chelsea, 32, her license appeared to expire in June after she first became registered nearly 10 years prior. Amanza, 48, obtained her license in 2020 and it expired four years later.

How Do 'Selling Sunset' Stars Get Paid — And Why Can the Amount Change?

The cast has often addressed insinuations that they aren’t actual realtors. After Chrissy Teigen questioned the authenticity of the show in 2020, Jason Oppenheim, who owns The Oppenheim Group responded, writing via X, “Chrissy, thanks for watching our show! Regarding your agent’s knowledge of members of my team, I respectfully don’t know him either although that doesn’t mean he isn’t successful and didn’t just sell you a stunning home in Weho (seriously, I love your new house).”

Jason later released a statement making it clear that his business is real.

“The insinuation that the agents on our show are not experienced, successful or licensed evidences a complete disregard for the facts,” he stated at the time. “Even a superficial investigation would identify previous team photos, hundreds of millions in transacted sales and more than 50 years of combined licensed real estate experience from these agents.”

‘Selling Sunset’ Stars Who Left the Series: Where Are They Now?

Chrishell, 44, meanwhile, responded to Million Dollar Listing‘s Josh Flagg claiming the Selling Sunset cast consists of “a few actors pretending to be agents” on their Netflix show.

“Well my license number is #02013937, but I also just had a movie hit @lifetimetv yesterday so check it out,” Chrishell wrote via X in 2023, noting that real estate is one of her “many hustles” so she understood the “critique” — and would “love” to work with Josh in the future.

More recently, Mary, 45, told Us that viewers don’t see most of the sales that happen.

“I would say probably 80 to 90 percent of my sales have never been shown,” she shared in 2024. “I do a lot of real estate deals that are like two to four million and, if they’re closer to two, most of the time they don’t get shown. They want to show the glitz and glamour.”

Selling Sunset is currently streaming on Netflix.
