Nicole Kidman is in a “good headspace” amid her divorce from Keith Urban, but there’s been some challenges, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.
“The hardest part is navigating the dynamic with their daughters,” the insider says, referring to Kidman and Urban’s two girls, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
“The last thing Nicole wanted was a broken family,” the source explains, noting that the actress, 58, “raised her daughters to be strong and is leading by example for them.”
As Kidman continues to figure out her life as a solo parent, the insider tells Us she plans to “focus on creating new traditions with her daughters and keeping their home life as steady and loving as possible.”

Outside of helping her girls navigate their new dynamic, Kidman has been keeping her own spirits up and staying “very busy,” the source says, adding that work “helps her push forward.”
Overall, Kidman is in a “good headspace and has been very positive,” the insider shares, pointing out that her and Urban’s public split came after spending time apart in private.
“She is pushing forward in a good way,” the source tells Us of Kidman post-split. “She isn’t necessarily trying to find her new normal throughout all of this, because they had been quietly separated for a while now.”
The insider adds, “This next chapter feels more like a transition than a shock” for the Big Little Lies alum.
Kidman wed Urban, 57, in June 2006 after previously being married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. The exes share two children, Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30.
Throughout her relationship with Urban, Kidman had been vocal about his love, support and they never shied away from PDA. In fact, in May, Urban took home the ACM Triple Crown Award at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards and gushed about his longtime partner on stage.

“I wanna thank the ACM Academy for this, and my wife, Nicole Mary, is here tonight,” Urban began his speech. “I love you, baby girl. Our girls, Sunday and Faith, watching at home tonight, I love you both too.”
The following month, the pair celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary, but eagled-eyed fans noticed that the rest of the summer they didn’t post about each other on social media.
Us confirmed on September 29 that Kidman and Urban had separated and one day later, the actress filed for divorce. In the filing, Kidman requested to be named the “primary residential parent” of their two daughters.

While Kidman filed for legal separation, an insider told Us in early October that she “had faith they could work it out” after being “quietly separated for a while.”
“This wasn’t Nicole’s decision, and she is devastated,” the source said. “Her trust was lost, and it was too far gone. Nicole had been trying to get them to work on their marriage and did not want this to get out to the public. She didn’t tell many friends what was really going on with them and was holding this in for months.”
Since news broke of their divorce, Urban has raised eyebrows after making a few adjustments to his tour setlist.
Last month, he changed the lyrics of “The Fighter” to give a shout-out to his guitarist, Maggie Baugh.

During his October 2 show, Urban removed “The Fighter” completely from the setlist. The song was known for being written about his and Kidman’s love story.
Urban later asked fans to “stop reading s*** into” his song choices and lyrics changes before performing an acoustic version of his 2002 hit “You’ll Think of Me” in Nashville on October 17. That night, he also performed “The Fighter” after having previously removed it from the setlist, TikTok footage revealed.
Kidman, meanwhile, jetted off to Paris Fashion Week on October 6 with Sunday and Faith by her side. The trio were spotted at the Chanel Womenswear Spring/Summer 2026 show.
