Two cats died Thursday morning during an apartment building fire in Eddington.
The fire broke out about 11:52 a.m. at the building off Riverside Drive, according to the Eddington Fire Department.
When they arrived, firefighters saw heavy flames roaring from a kitchen window and that the blaze had spread to the first floor.
Crews accounted for all the tenants and ensured they had escaped the flames. Once they did that, firefighters began attacking the blaze and contained it to the one apartment.
While several pet cats were rescued, two died from their injuries.
No tenants or firefighters were injured in the blaze.
It has been ruled an accidental stove fire.
