BANGOR — UpStart Maine’s Blitz Bangor Entrepreneurship Conference is seven short days away. This year’s conference is being held on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at the Hilton Garden Inn at 250 Haskell Road from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The theme is “Navigating Change, Seizing Opportunity” and registration is now open at https://upstartmaine.org/blitz-bangor-program/.

Blitz is a one-day event for entrepreneurs in all stages of funding and those considering starting their own business. Attendees will attend workshop sessions, discussions, and network with founders, makers and corporate entrepreneurs. Sessions include topics on navigating pricing in a shifting economy, finding innovation amid disruption, and communicating what you’re worth. Workshops include a group brainstorm and crafting your value statement. Multiple networking breaks throughout the day serve as opportunities for attendees to expand their networks and ask questions of presenters.

The keynote address will be given by James Beaupre, PhD., Devil’s Half Acre Distillery and Big Gig winner. Beaupre is an UpStart Maine Board member and director of industrial cooperation for the University of Maine. Beaupre develops partnerships and connects external partners with resources at UMaine to solve problems, support commercialization of university research and advance economic development in Maine.

“Blitz coinciding with Big Gig this year allows the conference to transition seamlessly into the pitch competition at Mason’s Brewing Company,” says Lisa Liberatore, program manager at UpStart Maine. “Attendees planning on visiting Bangor for either event can attend both, giving a full day of inspiration to area businesses and startups. We see folks from Madawaska to Kittery show up for these events, and hosting them together broadens their reach.”

Included in your ticket are refreshments and light breakfast fare, a full lunch, and additional refreshments during the end-of-the-day networking session. Act now and get two tickets for the price of one, and bring a friend or business partner. Please note: The Big Gig requires a separate free ticket, as space is limited to 50 at Mason’s.

Sponsors for Blitz 2025 are Maine Technology Institute, the City of Bangor and Joy Sinclair Marketing.
