Virginia Giuffre’s family offered a plea to the royal family while promoting her posthumously released memoir, Nobody’s Girl.

Virginia’s brother, Sky Roberts, and his wife, Amanda, appeared on the U.K.’s ITV show This Morning on Tuesday, October 21. Host Cat Deeley asked the couple if they had a message for the royals as Prince Andrew’s connection to late convicted billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein continues to make headlines.

“I would say you have an opportunity to promote change,” Amanda said. “You have an opportunity to say that you’ll be a royal family who protects the innocent no matter who is implicated, that you’ll stand on the right thing.”

She added, “You have an opportunity for your people to trust you, and for other governments and other worlds to trust you, and we’re hoping that you’re going to do the right thing. I think it’s been far too long. Our sister has waited far too long for that acknowledgement and that justice, and we would hope that we can trust you to do that.”

Questions and Some Possible Answers About Vrginia Giuffre’s Death

The royal family has not publicly commented on Virginia’s memoir or recent

Virginia first accused Andrew of sexual assault in 2019, claiming that thier first encounter took place in 2001 when she was 17 years old. Andrew vehemently denied her claims at the time, even alleging that they never met, despite their being a photo of them together. Andrew eventually stepped back from his public facing royal duties.

Years later, Virginia sued Andrew for sexual abuse in 2021. The two settled outside of court the following year. In her book, Virginia wrote that she planned to use the settlement money “to do some good” and develop the Speak Out, Act, Reclaim (Soar) foundation.

Virginia wrote that her goal was “for Soar to combat human trafficking by supporting organizations that focus on prosecution, protection, and prevention.”

News broke earlier this year that Virginia died by suicide at age 41.

In the wake of her death, emails between Epstein and Andrew resurfaced. Andrew previously claimed that he had cut off contact with Epstein in December 2010. However, the emails were dated 2011.

The correspondence between the two came just before Virginia’s memoir, which details the alleged sexual assault she faced at the hands of both Andrew and Epstein, was released.

Andrew announced on Friday, October 17, that he decided to give up his royal title as the scandal continued.

“In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” the former Duke of York shared in a statement at the time. “I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.”

He added, “With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further,” his statement on Friday concluded. “I will therefore no longer use my title or the honors which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
