On Wednesday, Oct. 15th in Caribou, the visiting Presque Isle Wildcats boys shut down the Caribou Vikings 1-0, and the Presque Isle girls also won, defeating the Vikings 8-1.
In the boys game, Camden O’Donnell of the Wildcats converged with the Caribou goalie and a defender on a high bouncing ball with eight minutes remaining in the first half. The ball ended up in the back of the net for the only score of the game.
Presque Isle goalkeeper Griffin Berry and the Wildcat defense frustrated the high-scoring Vikings, holding them to their first scoreless game of the season.
Presque Isle avenged an early season loss to the Vikings, and moved to a record of 9-2-2. Caribou is now 9-3-1.

In the opening girls game, Presque Isle’s Peyton Boinske had four goals and Astra Laughton tallied two to lead the Wildcats to the 8-1 victory. Allie Bartol and Brigid Schupbach added single scores for Wildcats, who moved to a record of 9-4. For the Vikings, Peyton West scored a second half goal to spoil the shutout. Caribou is now 0-13.
