Just days after pictures emerged of Katy Perry packing on the PDA with Justin Trudeau, the singer had a very interesting response to a fan’s proposal while performing in London.
The “California Gurls” singer brought her Lifetimes Tour to The O2 arena on Monday, October 13, and was surprised by an eager fan named Darren, who proposed to her after being invited onstage.
“I heard you’re single,” Darren said per footage posted on TikTok. “You heard I’m single? That’s interesting,” Perry, 40, responded.
Darren then got down on one knee and unfurled a sign reading, “Katy Perry, will you marry me?”

As the audience broke into laughter, a shocked Perry said, “Are you kidding me? Not today!”
“You know, you really should have asked me about 48 hours ago,” she then quipped, letting Darren down gently.

Perry asked the fan what he looked for in a partner. As he described looking for a “good lover,” Perry walked away from Darren towards two other fans she invited onto the stage and joked, “Let’s go far away from that man!”
“I can’t believe I brought you on stage. This is real freaky,” she continued to jest.
Addressing Darren, she added, “No, you can stay. There’s nothing wrong with you. It’s me. It’s me.”
Perry’s surprising moment came just two days after the Daily Mail published photos of the singer and Trudeau, 53, sharing a cozy moment aboard her Caravelle yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.

Perry and the former Canadian prime minister were seen cuddling and kissing in the photos published by the outlet on Saturday, October 11, though it’s not clear when the photos were taken.
The singer and the politician first sparked dating rumors in July after they were spotted together on two occasions on the same day. The pair were first seen enjoying a stroll with Perry’s dog in Montreal’s Mount Royal Park. Later that day, they were spotted dining at Montreal restaurant Le Violon, per footage obtained by TMZ in late July.
Two days after their dinner date, Trudeau was spotted enjoying Perry’s Lifetimes Tour concert at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Us Weekly broke the news in June that Perry had split from longtime fiancé Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares daughter Daisy Dove, 5. (Trudeau, meanwhile, split from wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in 2023.)
