Taylor Swift’s surprises just keep on coming with a six-part docuseries about the Eras Tour premiering this winter.
The project was officially announced during the Monday, October 13, broadcast of Good Morning America. Swift, 35, is giving fans behind-the-scenes access to the tour that broke records around the world from March 2023 to December 2024. The first two episodes will hit Disney+ on December 12, with two episodes airing weekly for the next two weeks.
But that’s not all — a new concert film titled Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show will also arrive on Disney+ this December with footage from her last Eras Tour performance in Vancouver.
“It was the End of an Era and we knew it,” Swift wrote via social media following the announcement on Monday. “We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety.”

On Sunday, October 12, the fan-favorite morning show teased Monday’s show, announcing the program would feature special news from the Life of a Showgirl musician.
“TOMORROW: We’re keep it 💯 with an exclusive Taylor Swift announcement! Tune in ONLY on GMA,” an Instagram caption read, quoting the singer’s “Fate of Ophelia” lyrics.
In GMA’s teaser footage, a voiceover announcer hinted at the nature of Swift’s surprise announcement.
“She’s at it again! Taylor Swift [is] shattering records with the biggest album debut in history with over 4 million units,” the announcer said. “And now, tomorrow morning, GMA has a huge new exclusive announcement on Taylor. So what’s next for her?”
Swift released her 12th studio album on October 3, which quickly broke all sorts of records.
“[I’m] trying to soak in this moment I feel of pride and joy for what I made,” Swift said on the October 6 episode of Audacy Check In, discussing her album rollout. “I don’t necessarily know if I’ve ever been so happy about a record before. It’s kind of a foreign feeling for me to feel so joyful because usually there’s just a lot of stress in an album release week.”
She continued, “This week, I just feel very uncomplicated feelings about this record. That’s new. So I’m like, ‘Let’s just ride out this feeling for a second.’”

Swift wrote and recorded the entirety of Showgirl during the European leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour in 2024, chronicling her life off of the stage. Many of Swift’s highlights at the time featured NFL star Travis Kelce, whom the pop star has been dating since summer 2023. Kelce, 36, even inspired several songs on Showgirl, including “Honey,” “Wood,” “Wish List” and “Opalite.”
“I’m just the lucky man that gets to be, you know, the support system for Taylor while she drops one of the coolest albums that I’ve ever listened to, that the world’s seen,” Kelce, who proposed to Swift in August, said on the October 8 episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “I’m excited for her. I’m happy for her. Everything seems to have gone perfectly, all this planning.”
He continued, “You see it from start to finish. She started this thing in the middle of her tour in Europe. To see it all unfold and come together and her connect the dots — from the strategic planning to how the album was all going to look — then listen to the music, and everything comes together.”
While Swift and Kelce have been thrilled with the record, not everyone is on the same page. Though, Swift isn’t bothered that Showgirl has lauded mixed reviews from critics and fans.
“I welcome the chaos. The rule of show business is, if it’s the first week of my album release and you are saying either my name or my album title, you’re helping,” Swift told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe earlier this month. “I’m not the art police. It’s, like, everybody is allowed to feel exactly how they want, and what our goal is as entertainers is to be a mirror.”
