A Round Pond woman was seriously injured Sunday evening when an alleged drunken driver collided with her in Woolwich.

Deborah Webster, 71, was driving a 2007 Toyota 4Runner south on Route 1 about 6:09 p.m. when a 2018 Ford F-150 driven by 33-year-old Porter Sickels of Biddeford crossed into Webster’s lane and collided with her, according to the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office.

Sickels careened off the road, while Webster’s Toyota spun around in the road before coming to a rest in the breakdown lane, the sheriff’s office said Monday.

Rescuers had to extract Webster from the Toyota, and she was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she was being treated for serious injuries.

Sickels was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. After his release from the hospital, Sickels was charged with aggravated operating under the influence resulting in a crash with serious bodily injury.

He was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, where he was being held on $10,000 bail.

Sickels was expected to be arraigned later this week.
