The 2025 racing season at Hermon’s Speedway 95 concludes this weekend with a pair of 100-lap races highlighting the card as Del Merritt bids farewell as the owner of the track.

The 80-year-old Merritt began as an assistant flagman at the track 57 years ago before eventually becoming a part owner and then the sole owner.

He sold the track to former two-time NASCAR Cup Series winner Ricky Craven from Newburgh this summer.

The 15th annual Ikey Dorr Memorial 100-lap street stocks race will be held on Saturday with the Cage Runner and Enduro classes combining for one 35-lap event.

The winner of the Dorr race, named after the Wiscasset native and Addison resident who died of an apparent heart attack while racing at Speedway 95 in 2009, will pay the winner $10,000.

A 100-lap Late Model race will be held on Sunday with the winner taking home a check for $5,000.

Sunday’s card will also include a 30-lap Sport Fours feature, a 15-lap race for the Maine Outlaw Midget cars and a demolition derby.

Racing begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Thirty six cars entered the Ikey Dorr race last year and winner Brady Creamer of Fredericton, New Brunswick was one of 18 drivers who finished it.

Hudson’s Isaac Rollins won the Street Stocks points title at Speedway 95 this season with 1,220 points followed by Hermon’s Scott Modery (1,081 points) and Franklin’s Michael Overlock (962).

John Curtis of Hermon was the Late Models points champion with 632 points followed by Bryson Parritt Steuben (626) and D.C. Alexander of Carmel (602).
