3 New Netflix Movies With at Least 90 Percent on Rotten Tomatoes (October 2025)

Netflix was practically bursting with movies that had at least 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes in September, with eight films scoring above that score.

In October, however, that number has fallen to two. There are a lot of films that land between 80 and 89 on Rotten Tomatoes, so we went with one that came close.

Watch With Us‘ picks for Netflix movies with at least 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes in October include an upcoming documentary with a rare 100 percent score.

You can find all three of our selections below.

25 Must-Watch Movies on Netflix (October 2025): ‘Steve’ and More

‘The Hurt Locker’ (2008)

Rotten Tomatoes rank: 96 percent

Kathryn Bigelow scored a victory over her ex-husband, James Cameron, at the 2009 Oscars when she won the Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture for her war movie The Hurt Locker. Jeremy Renner headlines this story of the second Iraq war as Sergeant First Class William James, a brilliant member of the army’s bomb disposal unit.

James quickly alienates two of his fellow squad members, Sergeant J. T. Sanborn (Anthony Mackie) and Specialist Owen Eldridge (Brian Geraghty), who view his hands-on approach to the job as a danger to their lives. The danger around them is so pervasive that some of these men need to reevaluate their lives, if they make it out of Iraq in one piece.

The Hurt Locker is streaming on Netflix.

‘Taxi Driver’ (1976)

Rotten Tomatoes rank: 89 percent

Even an all-time great movie like Taxi Driver can fall just below Rotten Tomatoes’ 90 percent benchmark. We’re including this film anyway because it’s a genuine classic. Director Martin Scorsese‘s classic film follows a Vietnam War veteran, Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro), a man who is severely mentally disturbed.

7 New Movies to Watch This Weekend on Netflix, Prime Video and More (Oct. 3-5)

After Travis’ attempts to romance Betsy (Cybill Shepherd) go down in flames, he contemplates assassinating her boss, Presidential candidate Senator Charles Palantine (Leonard Harris). Travis also becomes close to an underage prostitute, Iris Steensma (Jodie Foster), and hatches a dangerous plan to help her.

Taxi Driver is streaming on Netflix.

‘The Perfect Neighbor’ (2025)

Rotten Tomatoes rank: 100 percent

The Perfect Neighbor is one of the rare films to score 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, but this is not an uplifting documentary. It is, however, a true story of what happened when Ajike “AJ” Shantrell Owens confronted her neighbor, Susan Lorincz, in Florida, on June 2, 2023.

In this film, 911 calls and police calls placed by Lorinez establish that she was constantly complaining about Owens’ children playing in the neighborhood. Police footage also plays a major role in the narrative as officers respond to a murder. This film will stay with you, and the case that unfolds illustrates the limits of “Stand your ground” laws.

The Perfect Neighbor will stream on Netflix on October 17.
