Despite current headlines, Nicole Kidman was radiating love during her first public appearance following news she has filed for divorce from Keith Urban.
The actress, 58, attended the amfAR Dallas benefit gala on Saturday, October 4, and presented Taylor Sheridan with the Award of Inspiration for his artistic and humanitarian efforts. Sheridan, 55, is a writer, producer, director and actor known for creating Yellowstone and its spinoffs, 1883 and 1923.
Previous Inspiration Award honorees have included Richard Gere, Ava DuVernay, Dionne Warwick, Martha Stewart, Glenn Close, Katy Perry, Lee Daniels and Julia Roberts.
According to footage obtained by People, Kidman wore a form-fitting black dress with over-the-shoulder cap sleeves to the Saturday event. Her blonde hair was styled straight and parted down the middle. Her makeup was minimal, with dewy cheeks and a natural lip.

“I think what Taylor recognizes, as we all do, is that we are all more alike than we are different, and we are better when we look out for each other,” she shared while presenting on stage. “And that, of course, is why we’re here tonight. What better way to support, to elevate our common humanity than help fund both and innovative research.”
The amFAR foundation for AIDS Research is one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education and advocacy. According to their website, amfAR has raised nearly $950 million in support of its programs and has awarded more than 3,800 grants to research teams worldwide since 1985.
Saturday’s gala was the first time Kidman has been out in public since news of her split from her husband of 19 years, Urban, 57, was confirmed by Us Weekly on Monday, September 29. Kidman filed for divorce the following day, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to TMZ.
The exes share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, whom Kidman requested to be named the “primary residential parent” of, according to court documents obtained by Us.
Sunday stepped out on Wednesday, October 1, to walk in the Christian Dior show during Paris Fashion Week following the news of her parents’ split. She also shared a post via Instagram shortly after, writing, “j’adore dior.”
Kidman and Urban were last spotted out in public at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 game in Nashville on June 20. The Music City outing came just five days before their 19th wedding anniversary.
Urban has continued to tour amid the divorce filing, and was spotted without his ring when he touched down in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, October 2, for a performance on his High and Alive Tour.
A photo of Kidman, Sunday and Faith appeared in a slideshow during Urban’s performance of his song “Heart Like a Hometown” during the show at the Giant Center, which Us attended.

Urban’s utility player Maggie Baugh was not present at the show days after the pair made headlines for a lyric change in the country singer’s song “The Fighter.” Natalie Stovall, who has performed with Urban throughout his tour, was on stage instead. However, Urban and Stovall notably did not sing “The Fighter” on Thursday night.
In the Kidman-inspired song, Urban typically sings, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter.” However, during a recent concert prior to the split, he changed the lyric to give Baugh, 25, a shout-out — causing much speculation.
“This wasn’t Nicole’s decision, and she is devastated,” an insider told Us of the divorce. “Her trust was lost, and it was too far gone. Nicole had been trying to get them to work on their marriage and did not want this to get out to the public. She didn’t tell many friends what was really going on with them and was holding this in for months.”
