The Brewer Walmart was evacuated Thursday evening after a so-called prankster phoned in a bomb threat.
The boy, whose identity or age hasn’t been made public, called Walmart about 7:12 p.m. claiming there was a bomb in the store, according to the Brewer Police Department.
Walmart workers evacuated the store, and they helped Brewer police search for any possible explosive devices but found none, police said Friday morning.
The store reopened a short time later.
Brewer police tracked down the phone number used to place the call and identify the caller. Police said that the call was made as a “prank.”
The investigation is ongoing, and charges are forthcoming.
