As an educator, parent, and resident of Bangor, I know it’s important to have school committee members who understand students’ needs and who lead with a compassionate and welcoming spirit. That is why I will be proudly voting Mallory Cook for Bangor School Committee.
I met Mallory 11 years ago as a new teacher interviewing for my first job. Mallory, part of the interview team, eased my nervousness with warmth and enthusiasm for my mere being there. I was unconditionally welcomed by Mallory. Working alongside and under her leadership, I left every interaction feeling that I belong, I matter, and I am doing important work personally and professionally.
Mallory does this for everyone. I’ve seen these empowering interactions with students, educators, and community members. Although she is no longer my colleague, Mallory’s passionate leadership, dedicated experience, and uninhibited compassion continue to have a positive impact at the state level.
I care deeply about Bangor, where I’m raising my children, and I know Mallory does too. I am confident in her expertise, leadership, and warmhearted loyalty. Our children and our community will benefit from Mallory’s work on the Bangor School Committee. I encourage residents to join me in voting for Mallory Cook on Nov. 4.
Let’s ensure we have a school committee member whose heart and mind embody the welcoming and positive support we want for our beloved students, schools, and city.
