Victoria Beckham is telling her story — and dispelling the criticism about her public image in the process.
“People thought I was that miserable cow that never smiled,” she admits in a trailer released Wednesday, September 17, for her upcoming Netflix documentary, Victoria Beckham. “But I do. Don’t be shocked. I have never forgotten where I come from.”
The documentary follows Beckham, 51, as she prepares “for her most ambitious runway show yet at Paris Fashion Week,” according to Netflix’s Tudum. Along the way, the three-part series will look back to her formative years, starting at school, where her interests in fashion and music first blossomed.
It also tracks Beckham through her Spice Girls breakout, then romance and eventual marriage to soccer legend David Beckham.

“Performing was my dream,” she adds in the trailer. “The Spice Girls made me accept who I am. And then all of a sudden, it stopped. The uncool kid at school that’s awkward, that was me. But I desperately wanted to be liked, have a sense of worth. Fashion was this creative outlet.”
The documentary comes on the heels of Netflix’s 2023 docuseries Beckham, which focused on David. Studio 99 and Dorothy Street Productions are the studios behind both series.
In addition to Victoria, fashion icons like Marc Jacobs, Roland Mouret and Anna Wintour are interviewed in the series, as well as Victoria’s close friend Eva Longoria and, of course, David.
Victoria and David met in 1997 and married two years later. They share sons Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, as well as daughter Harper, 14. Victoria Beckham comes as her family is allegedly embroiled in an internal feud, as Brooklyn is reportedly not speaking to his brothers after he and wife Nicola Peltz Beckham decided to skip his father’s 50th birthday in May.

The couple requested a separate meet-up with David and Victoria in order to avoid seeing Romeo and his then-girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, whose relationship Brooklyn and Nicola did not support, a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time.
A source told Us in June that the family drama played a role in Romeo and Kim’s split.
“It was mutual. It was just too much pressure and tension looming over them,” the insider explained. “It put a lot of strain on them and there was no path forward. It was unfortunate that it got to that point, but family comes first for Romeo.”
Victoria Beckham premieres on Netflix on Thursday, October 9.
