Lady Gaga is enjoying her new role as mom to daughter Rose Bean after welcoming her baby girl this summer.
“She is so incredibly happy and in her element as a mother,” a source exclusively tells Us, revealing that Gaga, 40, and her tech exec fiancé, Michael Polansky, have been raising their first child at their home in Northern California.
According to the insider, the Grammy winner “loves” being away from the hustle and bustle of her superstar life and is focusing solely on motherhood after she and Polansky, 43, quietly welcomed Rose via surrogate on June 9.
“It’s a peaceful and perfect place for the baby,” the source says of the Northern California abode.

Gaga “doesn’t want to miss anything with Rose — feeding her, rocking her,” the insider shares, noting that the musician is “absolutely in love” with her baby and at ease “in a place with so much nature and beauty around her.”
“It’s the perfect setting. She loves it in Northern California. They are in their element,” the source tells Us of the family of three.
While Gaga’s life is “vastly different than it was during her tour” when she was “so crazy busy,” the insider tells Us she is now “focused on private family time.”
Gaga kept her road to motherhood private, but the source explains that she “planned it so she would have time off in advance.”
Lady Gaga and Fiance Michael Polansky Spotted With Baby for 1st Time
“All she really revealed was that she needed to carve out some personal time. It was not described what that personal time was for,” says the insider, who adds that Gaga and Polansky “haven’t talked about the surrogacy journey with a lot of people.”
Instead, the couple are opting to keep that portion of their lives “close to the vest,” the source notes. “They’re just grateful everything worked out.”
TMZ was first to report baby Rose’s name and that the couple welcomed their first child via surrogate.
Now that their bundle of joy is here, Gaga has taken a step back from public life because she “doesn’t want to miss the early months” of her life, according to the insider.
Polansky — who has been engaged to Gaga since 2024 — has been “taking the lead on the practical side” of parenthood, with the source telling Us the entrepreneur has been “handling the appointments and the small circle of people that are allowed around Rose.”
His role has been instrumental in Gaga being able to “focus on the little things that she loves doing,” the insider shares.
“She is trying to keep everything minimal around her so there’s no distraction. She loves the peace and quiet,” the source adds. “It’s such a new normal for her. She has worked so hard, and this is the first time she’s had this kind of peace in a while, and she is loving it.”
Since welcoming their first child, Gaga’s work hasn’t been at the top of her mind.
“Work is on pause so she can spend time with Rose. She’s not expected to go back to work anytime soon,” the insider continues. “Her main focus is the baby.”

The source tells Us that Gaga has “turned down multiple things already,” though a second insider says she’s been “doing some work from home” when she has downtime.
“She is finishing up her Mayhem Ball concert film and has been on calls for her Haus Labs brand,” according to the second insider. (The pop star was spotted recording her Los Angeles shows in February.)
Rose, however, remains Gaga’s No. 1 priority, with the first source telling Us, “She doesn’t want to miss anything.”
“She will come back [to music],” the insider explains. “But motherhood is now the starring role in her life,” the insider concludes.
