FALMOUTH — Maine Cancer Foundation has been awarded $25,000 through the WEX Hilary Rapkin Community Impact Grant, a philanthropic initiative funded and administered by WEX that recognizes nonprofit organizations making a meaningful difference in Southern Maine.
The grant is named in honor of Hilary Rapkin, a WEX leader who served the company for over three decades, and a champion for Maine-based non-profits. In honor of her contributions to the community, the award supports organizations whose work aligns with the WEX commitment to champion positive change in the world and open possibilities for others.
“We are honored to receive the WEX Hilary Rapkin Community Impact Grant,” Ray Ruby, executive director of MCF, said. “This generous investment will help get closer to our fundraising goal for TRI for a Cure so that we can continue our work to address Maine’s cancer burden and ensure that more people across our state have access to the prevention, screening and support services they need. We are deeply grateful to WEX for its longstanding partnership and commitment to improving the health of Maine communities.”

Since 2008, TRI for a Cure participants, volunteers, sponsors and supporters have raised more than $26 million to support MCF’s mission.
