A Bangor man allegedly dragged a woman into an apartment and then forced her into a car before police arrived.
Harold English, 24, has been charged with domestic violence assault, criminal restraint, refusal to submit to arrest and assault, according to Katy England, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.
English allegedly put his hands on the woman and dragged her into an apartment on Basketball Court about 1:25 p.m. Monday.
Before an officer arrived, English allegedly forced the woman into a vehicle and took off on Kenduskeag Avenue. The officer spotted the vehicle turning onto Husson Avenue before English stopped on Cynthia Avenue, England said Tuesday.
English allegedly resisted arrest when he learned he was being taken to jail.
He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where English remained Wednesday morning.
