BANGOR — Join us in Downtown Bangor on Saturday, July 11 for the annual Downtown Bangor Summer Sidewalk Art Festival, sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank. More than 100 versatile Maine artists and craft artisans will showcase a broad selection of art and handmade goods in many different media.
In addition to these jury-selected artists, the festival features a main stage with live performances throughout the day, and a vibrant array of free activities for children.
“The Summer Sidewalk Art Festival is a July highlight! It’s a fun way to spend a summer Saturday, with fantastic art, live music, and free activities for families. Festival visitors will find everything from fine art to pop art, homegoods, wearable art, and creative surprises to delight every age and interest,” Monique Bouchard, Downtown Bangor Partnership Marketing and Events director, said.
The beloved day-long festival fills Central and Harlow Streets of Downtown Bangor with art, music, live demonstrations, performances and family activities. As the premier arts and culture destination in Northern and Central Maine, Downtown Bangor seeks to provide an outlet for artists to sell their original work and interact with the community.
Festival visitors are encouraged to stroll the streets of the entire Downtown to take in mural installations, gardens, and permanent statues and visit the numerous galleries, shops and restaurants.
