Denise Richards secured a huge legal win in her ongoing divorce battle with estranged husband Aaron Phypers.

Court documents obtained by Page Six reveal that a Los Angeles judge ruled on Wednesday, April 8, that debt collection company Creditors Adjustment Bureau cannot seize any “wages and other assets” made by Richards, 55, to pay Phypers’ debt.

The Creditors Adjustment Bureau filed a motion for Richards’ money in September 2025, claiming that the actress was responsible for Phypers’ debt. The judge ruled that Richards has no financial responsibility for any debt that Phypers, 53, accrued “before or during” their marriage, according to Page Six.

The publication also reported that the judge denied the motion “without prejudice.”

Richards and Phypers have been in a nasty legal battle since last summer. Us Weekly confirmed in July 2025 that Phypers filed for divorce from Richards after six years of marriage.

Days later, Richards filed a restraining order against her estranged husband, claiming that he was abusive throughout their marriage.

During a February appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Richards alleged that Phypers “hit me on the side of my head” after she underwent surgery.

“That’s when I really knew there’s no hope at ever, ever salvaging this marriage at all,” Richards said at the time.

Denise Richards’ Ex Aaron Reveals Massive Debt in Plea for Spousal Support

Phypers has continued to deny her claims of abuse.

“Not true. Conjured up. I have the real evidence,” he told Us in a statement in July 2025. “I have never physically or emotionally abused Denise — or anyone. These accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful. Denise and I, like many couples, have faced our share of challenges, but any suggestion of abuse is categorically untrue. I have always tried to approach our marriage with love, patience and respect.”

Phypers was arrested in October 2025 and charged with two felony counts related to injuring a spouse and two felony counts related to dissuading a witness by force or threat. He was released on bail. The following month, Richards was granted a permanent restraining order against Phypers.

In December 2025, Phypers filed a request for spousal support, claiming he was in debt. Months later, Us confirmed that Richards was ordered to pay Phypers $5,000 a month in temporary spousal support. Phypers’ mom also launched a GoFundMe to help raise money for her son’s legal fees.

“Say whatever you want about me, which they have. I’ll deal with that after the divorce,” Richards said on the “MisSpelling” podcast in January. “But when you cross a line and bring my youngest daughter into trying to get money from strangers — it’s outrageous. That is wrong.”
