Comedy is the name of the game for the new Netflix shows in April 2025.

The streamer has added a double dose of NBC sitcoms to strengthen its already impressive lineup of original and borrowed shows.

There’s only one Netflix original series on this month’s list, and it’s far too big a hit to ignore.

Now, the Watch With Us team is sharing its roundup of the three new Netflix shows to watch in April and the reasons why you should watch them.

New on Netflix in April 2026 — The Full List of Movies and TV Shows

‘Happy’s Place’ (2024)

IMDb rank: 6.0

Country music star and actress Reba McEntire made her TV comeback with a sitcom on NBC called Happy’s Place. McEntire plays Bobbie McAllister, a woman who is the new owner of a Knoxville, Tennessee bar after the death of her father. Bobbie didn’t really want the bar or a sibling she’s never met before, but she gets both when the family lawyer reveals that the bar’s new co-owner is her half-sister, Isabella Sanchez (Belissa Escobedo).

Despite some early clashes with each other, Bobbie and Isabella are dedicated to keeping the bar open and its customers engaged. They’ll just have to learn how to work together and accept each other as family before they can make their ambitions for Happy’s Place a reality.

Happy’s Place is streaming on Netflix.

‘Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen’ (2026)

IMDb rank: 6.8

Netflix’s new horror miniseries Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen has already reached No. 1 on the streamer’s TV chart. The story takes place over the course of a week as Rachel Harkin (Camila Morrone) and Nicky Cunningham (Adam DiMarco) decide to get married. But almost immediately, the couple encounters some bad omens and misfortune on their way to the altar. It’s almost like they’ve been cursed.

Rachel is also taken aback by Nicky’s mother, Victoria Cunningham (Jennifer Jason Leigh), and the rest of his family’s strange eccentricities. But she’s more alarmed by a warning that seems designed to scare her away. But Rachel has a few secrets of her own, and things are just going to get stranger as her wedding day approaches. Weddings are supposed to join couples together as they vow to stick together in sickness and in health. But for the Harkin/Cunningham wedding, ’till death do you part may not be a euphemism.

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is streaming on Netflix.

‘St. Denis Medical’ (2024 – Present)

IMDb rank: 7.1

It’s hard to watch St. Denis Medical and not think about The Office and Scrubs, because it seems to have been inspired by both. The show even follows the same mockumentary format used by The Office and Parks and Recreation. Allison Tolman leads the cast as Alex, the hospital’s supervising nurse. Comedy veteran David Alan Grier also stars as an emergency physician named Ron, while Kahyun Kim and Mekki Leeper respectively play Serena and Matt, a pair of nurses who seem to share an attraction.

As kooky as the doctors and nurses can sometimes be, the patients are even more so. The hospital staff also has to deal with their oblivious boss, Joyce Henderson (Wendi McLendon-Covey). Joyce has very grand ambitions for the hospital, but her dreams may not be able to overcome the reality of its status as an underfunded medical facility.

St. Denis Medical is streaming on Netflix.
