Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach got clammy when he was asked about one of the biggest pop-culture events in recent history: Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s upcoming wedding.
Veach, 48, appeared on ESPN’s The Schrager Hour on Tuesday, March 31, when host Peter Schrager asked whether Veach had been “invited” to the big shindig.
“Um, we’ll see,” a fidgety Veach said. “Couldn’t say either way.”
Schrager, 43, responded, “Is that, like, no one’s even allowed to talk about … ,” before noticing Veach would rather be discussing any other topic.

“OK, I can sense … the room just got really tight,” Schrager said.
Veach lightened the mood with a laugh, saying, “That’s, like, the hardest-hitting question you’ll ever ask me.”
The Chiefs GM, who has been with the franchise since 2013, joked that he’d be far more willing to chat about this month’s NFL Draft than his superstar tight end’s nuptials.
“Off the record, you can ask me who we’re picking [with the 9th overall pick] and I’m going to tell you who we’re picking at nine. I cannot disclose anything about the wedding,” he said.

Last month, ESPN Chiefs insider Nate Taylor hinted that Kelce and Swift, both 36, plan to get married before Kansas City opens training camp, which is expected to happen in late July.
While the wedding talk made Veach squirm, he had no problem gushing about the impact Kelce has had on the organization over his 13 seasons with the team.
“He puts a smile on somebody’s face every single day,” he said. “It doesn’t matter if you win a game by three touchdowns or you lose a game and you gotta come back in and learn from the mistakes, everything he does, he does with a smile.”

Veach added, “It’s easy to lose sight of that and get into the headspace where it’s always negative, all the time. He just keeps a positive spin and an uplifting spin on everything he does. That’s one of the things, I’m glad he’s not retiring. When he does, that’s going to be almost impossible to replace.”
Last month, Kelce announced he would officially be returning for a 14th season with the Chiefs.
Veach admitted there was “doubt in the middle of the season” if Kelce was going to come back, but he ultimately left no doubt about the future following the Chiefs’ regular season finale against the Raiders.
“We finished our season in Vegas and then we get back to Kansas City and we have exit interviews,” Veach explained. “Travis basically said, ‘I’m not going out like this.’”
