After finding herself involved in a cheating scandal, Love Overboard’s Val Zuluaga refused to address what happened off screen.
“Hey everyone, I know there’s been a lot of curiosity about what happened after the show,” Val wrote via Instagram on Saturday, March 28. “I appreciate everyone’s interest, but l’m asking for my privacy while I process things in my own time.”
She continued: “I’ll share my story when I’m ready, and on my terms. Until then, I hope we can all respect each other’s journeys without trying to sensationalize them. Thank you guys for all your love and support.”
Season 1, which premiered on Thursday, March 26, introduced Val as a “shipwrecker” who got in between David Fuhrmann and Lauren “Lo” Henderson after they had already formed a connection. David found himself torn between the two women but chose to ask Lo to be his girlfriend.

Despite their connection, David went on a date with Val, which led to them sharing an intimate moment. David chose to stay paired with Val as their costars shamed them for alleged infidelity. They nearly won the season but ultimately came in second — and now no longer follow each other on Instagram as viewers questioned their relationship status.
Hosted by Gabby Windey, Love Overboard follows singles as they “board a lavish yacht seeking romance, but accessing its luxuries comes with challenges,” according to the synopsis.

“As they navigate love and betrayal on the high seas, only one pair will emerge victorious,” reads the rest of the description for the Hulu series, which filmed in June 2025.
In the penultimate episode, there were eight pairs remaining as the contestants had to vote for the most compatible couple. Those couples included Tim Demirjian and Gia Aldisert, Lexi Borges and James Barranca, Delaney Kluger and Keif Kratochvil, Christine Templeton and Jake Rath, and David and Val. The three couples eliminated were Reece Kane and Sofia Bevarly, Enna Schell and Andrew Petersen, and Leela Ambrose-Fleck and Koray Easterling.
Couples Who Survived the Reality TV Curse (So Far)
The finale surprised Us with Delaney and Keif self-eliminating as James and Lexi — and Tim and Gia — cast their votes for David and Val. Meanwhile, David and Val voted for Tim and Gia, while new couple Christine and Jake decided to vote for themselves to end their time on the ship.
Gia and Tim received the most votes and became the winners against James and Lexi and David and Val. The prize was a $100,000 trip around the world, but did Tim and Gia stay together? According to social media, Tim and Gia still follow each other on social media and appear on good terms, but their exact relationship status is still unclear.
Love Overboard is currently streaming on Hulu.
