UPDATE — 3/31/26, 1:01 p.m. ET: Andrew Lewis is responding to Jenelle Evans’ claims that his GoFundMe page is a “scam.”
“My insurance has covered his medical costs, and I have $16,000 in medical claims that I am now personally responsible for,” Lewis claimed to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup on Monday, March 30. “Yes, I have a job, but I can’t afford to pay for that amount.”
Lewis continued, “Also, Jenelle’s statement that she is paying for Jace’s medical care is not truthful. They are still billing my insurance.”
According to Lewis, he doesn’t know where his son, Jace, is right now and his family is “worried.”

Former Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans is responding to ex Andrew Lewis’ GoFundMe page for their son, Jace.
“I want to address something that’s been circulating online,” Evans, 34, said in a statement to Us Weekly on Monday, March 30. “I’ve been made aware of a GoFundMe created by Andrew regarding legal and medical expenses for our son. At this time, my son is FULLY covered by health insurance, and I AM currently handling and paying for all of his medical care. Beware this is a scam for anyone that has donated.”
On Thursday, March 26, Lewis started a crowdfunding initiative to raise money for “medical and legal” expenses for their 16-year-old.
“We also need help paying the legal fees it will take to battle Jace’s mother for custody,” Lewis wrote on the GoFundMe page. “During the last month, people who are concerned and care for Jace have reached out to ask how they can help us in our fight for Jace, leading us to create this fundraiser. Anything left over will be for his future medical needs.”
Inside Jenelle Evans’ Relationship With Ex Andrew Lewis
According to Evans, the matter is “not being fought out in court as suggested.”
“We are scheduled to go through mediation, which is a more appropriate and constructive path focused on what’s best for our child,” she claimed. “I will always prioritize my son’s well-being, stability and privacy. I won’t be engaging in back-and-forth online, but I did feel it was important to clarify the facts. Thank you to those who continue to support me and respect my family’s privacy.”
Us has reached out to Lewis via the GoFundMe page for comment about Evans’ latest statement.

Evans and Lewis were first featured on an episode of MTV’s 16 and Pregnant in 2010. After two years of dating, the pair broke up shortly after welcoming their son.
The exes have struggled to coparent successfully in recent years, especially as Jace navigates his teenage years.
News broke earlier this month that Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, filed two motions in court: one for emergency child custody and one to modify child custody, according to court documents obtained by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup. The motion was later denied.
In a TikTok posted on Saturday, March 28, Jenelle addressed the speculation over her family and denied rumors she was “doing nothing” or didn’t care about Jace’s welfare.
Inside Teen Mom 2’s Jenelle Evans’ Tumultuous Relationship History
“I’m such an easy target, [but] in actuality, behind the scenes, I am doing everything that I can for my child,” Jenelle claimed. “I am doing what’s in the best interests for him and that’s none of your business to know.”
The former Teen Mom 2 star said she is pressing pause on her podcast to focus on her kids and will be posting less on social media to prioritize her family.
“Every decision I make as a mother is for a reason — and it’s for a good reason,” she said. “So, just know maybe one day we can share this story and it’ll be a redemption story and a positive one but, at the moment, it’s not the time for that. So with all due respect, including my family, please, just back off a little bit, please? Let us breathe.”
