This war with Iran was a poorly thought out “excursion” (his term) by President Donald Trump. He is now in such a poor position with finding an off-ramp that last Monday, he came out with a huge announcement that progress is being made negotiating with an unspecified leader in Iran. The market responded by rebounding and oil prices went down. But the next day, it looked like it was another one of Trump’s fabrications with Iran denying everything Trump was saying about negotiations in progress.
It has also been announced that Ukraine is helping the U.S. with anti-drone technology that is much less costly than what we use for defense against drone strikes. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is helping us where other countries are incredulous and angry with Trump and his war with Iran.
Back in February 2025, Trump was blasting Zelenskyy in a face-to-face meeting at the White House for not bending to Trump’s demands to end the war that Trump insinuated Ukraine had started with Russia. Trump told Zelensky that he had “no cards.” Well, now it seems the table has turned and it is now Trump who is the one with “no cards” with his “excursion” with Iran.
