The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Miranda Hope McWhorter is speaking out after Us Weekly exclusively confirmed that costar Jessi Draper kissed her ex-husband, Chase McWhorter.
“I knew there had been communication between Chase and Jessi but not to what extent,” Miranda, 27, said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, March 26. “Chase was upfront and told me that they were talking and that they kissed. Jessi reached out only after she knew Chase had told me something was going on with them.”
Miranda claimed Jessi sent her “apology flowers” on Thursday, which she documented via her Instagram Stories, “at the same time a rumor started spreading online that something was going on with Chase and Jessi.”
Miranda and Chase, 31, who share son Brooks, 6, and daughter Cohen, 4, separated in 2024 after seven years of marriage.

“What I never want to get misconstrued is that there is not any emotional attachment to Chase,” Miranda told ET. “He is my coparent. Although I do feel disrespected by Chase, I feel slighted by my friend. Chase and I are no longer partners and while I have a high expectation of him as a coparent, I also hold my friends to a high standard and believe in girl code.”
Us has reached out to Jessi and Chase’s reps for comment.
DeuxMoi broke the news on Thursday that Jessi and Chase were spotted getting cozy and kissing at a party last weekend. Later the same day, an insider confirmed to Us, “They were having fun at a party, and it’s not serious between them.”
After the news broke, Miranda took to her Instagram Stories to post a photo of a bouquet of flowers, seemingly from Jessi, 33.
“I completely understand you being upset with me,” read a card attached to the flowers. “But wanted to send you a little something to let you know I’m thinking about you and I am so so sorry. – Jessi.”
Miranda captioned the post, “Received the prettiest flowers just minutes ago,” alongside an upside-down face emoji.
The latest MomTok drama comes after Jessi’s estranged husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, filed for divorce from the JZ Styles founder last week.
“I’m grateful for the shared memories and the lessons,” Jordan said in a March 19 statement to Us. “While our paths are now moving in different directions, my priority remains my children and ensuring they feel loved, supported, and protected through this transition.”

During a Wednesday, March 25, appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Jessi claimed that she told Jordan she wanted to get divorced on March 13. He filed several days later.
“I felt so trapped in that marriage. I couldn’t do anything right. I was so beaten down emotionally, and I was just so deeply unhappy,” Jessi said during her interview. “He made me feel like I couldn’t leave, and for my kids, too. I was just really, really upset.”
