I am finding that the war is on my mind all the time. The United States has created chaos, death and destruction seemingly on the whim of a man who is obsessed with power and couldn’t come up with a valid justification for creating a new war.
The people’s representatives, Congress, of which the controlling majority is Republican, have done nothing to stop him. They had the chance to limit his powers, but they voted against doing that.
As horrible as it has been to watch him break our democracy to pieces, I think it was worse when that evil lust for power reached out into the world, wreaking havoc and destruction on innocent people who had been living in functioning communities where people loved and laughed and did the best they could, as we all do. I feel ashamed that now my country is the one attacking without provocation and is the enemy of the law-abiding nations that once were our allies. I believe the world is much more dangerous now and we are to blame.
This can’t be fixed, but I think we must vote out these ineffectual Republicans who have not stopped him. I know what limited power we little people have, but we do still have the vote. I hope that we will still have it next November.
