Kristin Cabot called out Gwyneth Paltrow and Ryan Reynolds for poking fun at her viral moment with Astronomer CEO Andy Byron at a Coldplay concert.
Cabot originally made headlines in August 2025 when she was the head of HR at tech company Astronomer and was spotted getting cozy on the kiss cam with Byron, the CEO who was also newly separated. In the footage that circulated online, Byron had his arms wrapped around Cabot until they realized the cameras were on them, prompting him to drop out of sight to hide and Cabot to turn and shield her face.
Days after the scandal, Paltrow, 53, who was previously married to Coldplay singer Chris Martin, appeared in a mock ad as the “temporary spokesperson” of Astronomer. The company’s attempt to make light of the situation — and Paltrow’s involvement — didn’t sit right with Cabot.
“That was really disappointing to me,” Cabot shared in an interview posted on Tuesday, March 17. “I felt like Gwyneth, someone whose company [Goop] is founded on or framed around uplifting women and women’s well-being … I don’t know why she felt she needed to throw gas on the fire and get involved in all of this. It just felt really hypocritical to me and unnecessary.”

Cabot was told that Paltrow relayed a message about how she was informed that Cabot and Byron “signed off on that commercial.” The actress clarified she “wouldn’t have done it” if she knew Cabot wasn’t comfortable with the concept.
While Cabot confirmed that Paltrow clarified her involvement, there was an awkward moment in the interview when Cabot wouldn’t address why she didn’t answer Paltrow’s email about the situation.
“[Coldplay also] kinda got ruined for me, I’ll be honest,” Cabot said. “Like, not the biggest fan anymore.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Cabot called out Reynolds, 49, for his separate ad about the scandal, adding, “He produced the ad, he created it and his wife has just gone through something really similar over the last year.” Cabot, who referenced Blake Lively’s ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni over sexual harassment, called it “astounding” that Reynolds chose to participate in the commercial.

Us Weekly has reached out to Paltrow and Reynolds for comment.
Cabot previously broke her silence on how her life changed after the scandal. “I took accountability and I gave up my career for that. That’s the price I chose to pay,” she told The New York Times in December 2025. “I want my kids to know that you can make mistakes, and you can really screw up. But you don’t have to be threatened to be killed for them.”
Cabot, who stepped down from her position as Chief People Officer, recalled getting countless death threats in the months since the concert.
“They were already in really bad shape, and that’s when the wheels fell off the cart,” she shared about how her family was concerned for her safety. “Because my kids were afraid that I was going to die and they were going to die.”
