Megyn Kelly shared her thoughts on the 2026 Oscars — and she wasn’t too happy about some of the broadcast’s more political jokes.
“Let’s spend a little time on the Oscars, because they were ridiculous,” Kelly, 55, began on the Monday, March 16, episode of her SiriusXM show before dissecting Jimmy Kimmel’s appearance as a presenter.
“He had to get some snipes in at the first lady and at [President Donald] Trump,” Kelly said, calling out Kimmel, 58, for taking shots at the recent documentary about Melania Trump as he introduced the best documentary category.
Kelly further blasted host Conan O’Brien for referencing Turning Point USA’s All-American Halftime Show in one of his jokes. The late Charlie Kirk’s organization made headlines last month for offering an “alternative” halftime show after Bad Bunny was announced as the headliner at Super Bowl LX.

“I should warn you, tonight could get political,” O’Brien, 62, quipped during the Sunday, March 15, ceremony. “And if that makes you uncomfortable, there’s an alternate Oscars being hosted by Kid Rock. It’s at the Dave & Busters down the street.”
Kelly interpreted the joke as a dig at the fact that TPUSA isn’t as wealthy an organization as the Academy.
“OK, right. Turning Point doesn’t have the same money that the Hollywood crowd has, so they don’t have quite the glitz and the glamour for their alternate halftime show,” she told listeners. “Though they put on an amazing show that actually set records, which you would know, Conan, if you would take one step out of your white privilege, woke, Hollywood bubble.”
It is unclear which records she believes the TPUSA halftime show broke. Bad Bunny’s performance, meanwhile, became the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show in history, garnering 4.157 billion views in 24 hours across global broadcast, YouTube and social platforms.
While Kelly was unhappy about the political jokes, she had nothing but praise for presenter Nicole Kidman and winners Jessie Buckley and Michael B. Jordan.

Kelly gave a shout-out to Kidman, 58, for telling a reporter that she went to church on Sunday before heading to the Oscars.
Buckley, 36, earned Kelly’s support for her speech, where she joked she wanted to have 20,000 more babies with her husband, Freddie Sorenson, and dedicated her victory to “the beautiful chaos of a mother’s heart.”
“That was extraordinary, good for her,” Kelly said.
As for Jordan, 39, Kelly commended him for staying “humble” while on stage and thanking God in his speech.
