These five homes in Penobscot County sold in the last month, and show what Bangor-area buyers are looking for and what they can afford.

With an average sale price of roughly $232,000, the properties fall just under the median sale price for a home in Penobscot County, which has surpassed $265,000.

They were all sold by agents from Bangor-based ERA Dawson-Bradford Co. Realtors.

Bangor, $270,000

This condominium on Streamside Lane in Bangor offers two bedrooms, one bathroom and more than 1,000 square feet of living space. Built in 2007, the Cape Cod-style home also features an attached one-car garage and a spacious back deck.

Situated on the end of a cul-de-sac off Finson Road in north Bangor, the property is quiet and private. A neighborhood association oversees outdoor maintenance, such as snow removal and lawn care.

The home closed on Feb. 13 for $270,000, slightly below its initial asking price of nearly $290,000.

The property sits on Ohio Street, across the street from Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Inside, the home offers hardwood floors, a built-in cabinet in the living space and a spacious walk-in closet in the primary bedroom, among other features.

With more than 2,000 square feet of living space, the home has a large front porch, back deck, spacious back yard and a detached two-bay garage with an 840-square-foot heated space above.

Veazie, $400,000

Located on Silver Ridge, off Chase Road, this nearly 2,400-square-foot ranch-style home is just over the town line between Veazie and Bangor. The .4-acre lot includes a two-car detached garage with a bonus room above.

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home was built in 1990 but recently updated with modern bathroom fixtures and stainless steel kitchen appliances. The house also has hardwood floors, a pellet stove and a deck that overlooks the backyard.

The home sold on Feb. 25 for $400,000 — $5,000 less than its initial asking price.

Old Town, $13,000

This 980-square-foot mobile home sits off College Avenue in Old Town, roughly a 5-minute drive from both downtown Old Town and downtown Orono.

The home sold on Feb. 11 for $13,000, significantly less than its previous asking price of nearly $20,000.

Built in 1988, the home offers two bedrooms, one bathroom and an open main living space with plenty of windows to let in natural light.

Millinocket, $168,000

Built in 1957, this five-bedroom, two-bathroom house on Pleasant Street in Millinocket offers nearly 1,300 square feet of indoor living space.

The property is around the corner from downtown Millinocket and is near Baxter State Park and Katahdin.

The ranch-style home has hardwood floors throughout, a full basement, glass cabinets and a finished loft space with built-in beds and drawers, which could host guests or be an additional living area.

The home sold on Feb. 18 for $168,000, less than its initial asking price of nearly $180,000.
