Sarah J. Maas is mentioning it all.

Alex Cooper sat down with the author for the Wednesday, March 4, episode of “Call Her Daddy” and got justice for BookTok by answering their burning questions.

“All of my books kind of have mirrored my own mental health journey even before I realized I had issues,” she wrote. “A lot of what Aelin went through and Feyre, all of that, like that was drawn from very broken places in me. [A Court of Mist and Fury], that came out of me and I didn’t even realize what that meant about me, but [A Court of] Silver Flames was really the first time when I understood the connection.”

For weeks, readers were abuzz with the possibility of Maas being on the famed podcast. Some wondered if Cooper would get the tea they needed — and the podcast host absolutely delivered.

Keep scrolling for the biggest announcements from Maas’ appearance on “Call Her Daddy”:

A Guide to Author Sarah J Maas’ Books Before ‘Call Her Daddy’

Did Sarah J Maas Announce ‘ACOTAR’ 6 on ‘Call Her Daddy’?

Mark your calendars, readers, because Maas announced that the sixth ACOTAR book is set to be released on October 27.

“I’ve been working and working on that. It’s been a long time coming. It’s something that — it took me a long time to write, just because there were enough things going on in my life that I had to sort through,” the author explained. “It’s taken a while because it took me a while to find the right story and to be in the right headspace.”

The book’s title and cover have yet to be revealed.

“It’s long,” Maas said, refusing to reveal which character’s point of view the book will be from. “You [get] a lot of insight to various things.”

Maas then revealed that on January 12, 2027, another ACOTAR book will be released.

“There will be two books within a very short span,” she confirmed. “It’s just the story that was finally ready to come out of me was big, really, really, really big.”

Maas explained that it’s going to be “three physical volumes” overall.

“It’s meant to be read ideally as one massive story as opposed to a trilogy. It’s not a trilogy. Like, arcs aren’t wrapped up,” she added. “There’s gonna be a lot of ACOTAR in a very short time. Eventually, the conclusion will be written … I don’t want anyone to wait any longer.”

BookTok users were speculating hours before the episode dropped that a major announcement from Maas was coming on the podcast. Some pointed to the Barnes and Noble website for proof, claiming that there was already a preorder for the highly anticipated sixth book in the ACOTAR series and a second novella.

What Else Did Sarah J Maas Say About ‘ACOTAR’ on ‘Call Her Daddy’?

The truth about Mor’s powers will be revealed, along with how Faye get into the House of Wind. Maas also teased a possible redemption arc for Tamlin — if you know, you know.

“It’s tricky because I’ve had so many women, including some very dear friends of mine who come up and told me about how they saw their own abusive relationship mirrored in Tamlin,” she admitted. “If I were to ever write more about Tamlin, it would be done in a way where it doesn’t erase what he has done and it doesn’t invalidate the feelings of my readers who have connected to that.”

She added, “It would have to be done in a way that was genuine to him and to reality. But also well aware of what he means for different types of people and different experiences and to honor and respect them for that.”

Maas also confirmed that it was “hard” for her to return to writing ACOTAR.

“When this right story hit me, it hit me hard,” she explained. “I had a vision from the start of what it would be. How I would deliver it to you guys and that’s what I want to do. Getting to be in the driver’s seat and decide this is how I wanna tell stories and if I want to adapt it for every new book or just, arc, I can do that.”

Did Sarah J Maas Address the ‘Twilight of the Gods’ Rumors on ‘Call Her Daddy’?

“That was just, like, a story that I like. It was kind of like Crescent City where I always have manuscripts and other stories in my head. I think I have … probably like three or four unpublished full books for different series on my computer,” Maas revealed. “That I don’t if they’ll ever see the light of day, but, sometimes I just get a story in my head and I wanna start writing it and I get ideas for it, and it comes out, and sometimes I wanna share that with the world and sometimes I don’t.”

Maas readers previously discovered a Pinterest board she made titled “Twilight of the Gods,” with rumors running rampant that she’s working on a Norse Mythology series.

Is Sarah J Maas Writing More ‘Throne of Glass’ Novels?

While this was not something she confirmed, Maas noted that something she thinks about “a lot” is where Vaughn went.

“That’s all I’ll say about that,” she teased.
