The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers are getting more of the real story regarding Rachel Zoe’s decision to leave her marriage to Rodger Berman.
Rachel, 54, reflected on the final straw of her marriage during the Thursday, February 26, episode of the Bravo show. The scene was filmed on the one-year anniversary of the day her “whole entire life broke open.” Rachel recounted the events of that day while at dinner with costars Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley.
“He was in Aspen and I wouldn’t go to Aspen because I had to host something here. It was, like, a whole thing,” she recalled. “Whatever happened, happened and then I just split open. I just remember literally being on the ground and I remembered crying more than I ever [have].”
Dorit, 49, was quick to ask for clarification about what went down.
“We got into a big fight and I just was like, ‘I’m done. I’m done. I’m done,’” Rachel continued. Kyle, 57, asked how Rachel found out “whatever” Rodger had done that “upset” her so much.
“Well, he told me,” Rachel replied before she explained the situation further in her confessional.
Rachel Zoe Reveals When Her Divorce From Rodger Berman Will Be Finalized
Rachel said she was out at a party and had “just come home for the night” when Rodger called her.
“There was a call. Honestly, it’s like I just saw red and just hung up,” she said. Rachel also explained to viewers that the past two years were the “worst” with her and Rodger “fighting and reconciling” over and over.
“Some things happen for reasons to force your hand and in this case, that weekend, of August 2 [and] 3, 2024, just made it real f***ing easy to go,” she said in her confessional.
“People have always asked me over the years, what’s the secret to our success,” she added. “The first answer was always trust. It’s like, when that trust is broken, it’s like broken. There’s no going back.”
Rachel told Dorit and Kyle that she “never” looked at Rodger’s phone. He apparently never apologized or cried. Rachel speculated that Rodger told her what he had done to “hurt” her.
“My reaction is, I can’t come back. I can’t unhear, I can’t unsee, I can’t unknow,” she said. “He was a secure person until the last six [or] seven years and then it just went down.”
During the early days of their relationship, Rachel said Rodger was “so secure” and “never” held her back.
Rachel said she “never cheated” on Rodger but only “fooled around” with a model once before they were engaged. Rodger apparently proposed the “next day,” after Rachel told him what went down but “didn’t give a s***” because he was “so secure.”
Rachel Zoe Ditches Wedding Ring After Announcing Rodger Berman Divorce
Rachel and Rodger were married for 24 years before they announced in September 2024 that they were separated. Rachel filed for divorce in July 2025. According to the Daily Mail, their date of separation was listed as June 27, 2024. They share sons Skyler, 14, and Kaius, 12.
“There’s nothing about the person that is, that resembles the person that was. People are allowed to change,” Rachel continued. “He made it very clear that he was very happy in who he had become.”
She added, “I have to say thank you that it happened, whatever happened. … Or else I’d spend another six years being loyal waiting for someone that I once knew to come back.”
Rodger has since moved on with stylist Bree Jacoby, whom he was first spotted with months after his split from Rachel. The RHOBH star played coy when asked about the timeline of Rodger and Bree’s relationship — which has raised some eyebrows. (Rodger and Bree officially went public in September 2025.)
“I don’t know that I can answer that really,” she told People in November 2025. “Listen, the timeline’s the timeline. And again, everything I answer is through a lens of what my children will see and hear. It is what it is. Whether or not they’re together now, I don’t really know. Life is wild, and I can say it takes a whole lot to really shock me.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET and streams the next day on Peacock.
