Country singer J.D. Graham has been hospitalized after he was involved in a severe car accident.
“I’m barely alive here,” Graham, 48, said in a Facebook video shared Wednesday, February 25. “I’m still discombobulated, but [my] daughter said people are helping out with some things.”
Graham sustained multiple injuries in the accident, including a broken back and broken ribs, as well as a “broken heart” after his dog died in the crash.
“It’s a tragedy,” he said. “Thank you guys for the support, and I hope to see you guys soon. I’m not too worried about music stuff right now. Just gotta get better.”

As Graham focuses on his recovery, he’s been grateful for the continued fan support.
“Dad wanted to make sure he personally gives everyone an update. The devil works hard but God works harder,” he captioned his Wednesday video. “Thank you for your continued support.”
Graham was initially airlifted to a local hospital after the Tuesday, February 24, crash.
“J.D. Graham was in a serious accident yesterday as he was hit by a tractor trailer and had to be airlifted,” a Facebook update several hours earlier read. “He has a broken back, broken neck and broken ribs and they are not done with all of the tests.”
The statement continued, “His beautiful wife [Amy] just finished her cancer treatment and Jeremy has worked his tail off as a musician to carry them through her journey and chase his dreams at the same time. Now, he will need the love and support of others to carry him through.”
Graham’s daughters, Destiny and Sydney, subsequently set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the family’s medical expenses.

“Our family wanted to share an update for everyone who has been reaching out and asking how my dad is doing and how they can help,” a fundraiser description states. “First, we want to say thank you. The calls, messages, prayers, and support have meant more to us than we can ever explain. We truly feel surrounded by love right now.”
According to Graham’s kids, the musician will likely “be unable to walk for some time.”
“Watching someone so strong go through something like this has been incredibly hard for all of us,” the sisters wrote. “My dad is very involved in the music industry, and the outpouring of love from singers, songwriters, venue owners and all of the friends and fans he has made along the way has been absolutely incredible to witness. It has meant so much to our family to see how many lives he has touched.”
They continued, “As many of you know, my dad travels all over the country for his job and had many important shows coming up that he now won’t be able to attend. Life doesn’t really slow down though bills still come, responsibilities continue, and right now we don’t even know how long we will need to stay here in Texas or when we will be able to go home. When he is finally able to return home, he will have a long road ahead with extensive physical and mental rehabilitation. It’s going to take time, patience, and a lot of strength.”
The campaign has raised $59,782 at the time of publication.
