Got plans this weekend? Well, break them because Hulu has added some irresistible movies to watch in February.
Watch With Us is here to recommend only the best, and we’ve curated a brief list of the top movies you should stream this weekend.
Even if you’re not a Jennifer Lopez fan, you should still watch Kiss of the Spider Woman, a sober drama that’s also a colorful musical. Trust me, it works.
Across the pond, the British dramedy The Lady in the Van features one of Maggie Smith’s best late-career performances, while What Happens in Vegas is a bawdy comedy that will make you wonder why star Cameron Diaz isn’t in more films.
‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ (2025)
Luis Molina (Tonatiuh) and Valentin Paz (Diego Luna) are two Argentine prisoners with nothing in common who are stuck in the same dirty cell. To pass the time, Luis tells Valentin about his favorite movie, The Kiss of the Spider Woman, starring the glamorous Ingrid Luna (Jennifer Lopez). As the two men become immersed in fantasizing about the movie, their real-life situation worsens as corrupt prison officials pressure Luis to coerce Valentin to tell him the location of his revolutionary friends, who are still wanted by the police. Will Luis sacrifice the only friend he has for a shot at freedom?

Previously adapted for the screen in 1985, Kiss of the Spider Woman was later turned into a successful musical in 1992. That’s what this version of Kiss is based on, so expect a lot of wild, colorful musical numbers with Lopez singing such signature tunes as “Gimme Love” and the title song. These sequences are entertaining, but it’s the movie’s dramatic parts with Luis and Valentine in their cell that are the most captivating — and touching. The movie’s odd mixture of sober political drama and theatrical excess doesn’t always quite work, but it succeeds in weaving a web so alluring that you won’t want to escape it.

‘The Lady in the Van’ (2015)
No one knows much about Miss Mary Shepherd (Maggie Smith), the kooky old lady who lives in a van that roams around a wealthy London suburb. When a group of teenage boys shakes her van and almost scares her to death, local writer Alan Bennett (Alex Jennings) offers his driveway as a parking spot so she can recover. What was meant to be temporary soon becomes 15 years as Alan and Mary strike up an odd friendship. But Mary remains a mystery to Alan, one he’s determined to solve when she unexpectedly disappears one day.
The Lady in the Van is a sweet, character-driven drama with touches of odd humor that can only come from the English. That the movie is based on real people makes it even more entertaining and, ultimately, moving. Yes, there really was a Mary Shepherd, and she really did live in a van parked in someone’s driveway for over a decade. In one of her last big lead roles, Smith is terrific as a seemingly destitute woman whose past is far richer than Alan or anyone else could’ve imagined. Smith’s Mary is a great example of that adage, “never judge a book by its cover,” and by the end of the movie, you’re glad to have met her.

‘What Happens in Vegas’ (2008)
When Joy (Cameron Diaz) and Jack (Ashton Kutcher) separately experience devastating personal setbacks, they decide to fly to Las Vegas and party their worries away with their best friends. After they are booked into the same hotel room, they team up for a night of mutual debauchery that ends with them getting hitched. But before they can get a quickie divorce, Jack wins a slot machine jackpot with Joy’s money. To claim their winnings, they’ll have to remain married for six months until a judge finalizes their divorce. Can they last that long without killing each other or — worse — fall in love?
5 Top New Movies and TV Shows to Watch This Week (February 23-27)
What Happens in Vegas pairs a high concept with low humor. The result is a movie you can’t help but like, even if you roll your eyes at the outrageous plot. Diaz and Kutcher share a goofball energy that’s infectious — they match each other’s freak in all the right ways. As their long-suffering friends, Lake Bell and Rob Corddry tsk-tsk appropriately while also generating a few laughs of their own. It’s no classic, but What Happens in Vegas is a solid bet for a night of wacky hijinks that, unlike the film’s lead characters, you won’t regret.
