The survival thriller Fall was only a minor hit in theaters, but it’s a chart-topping blockbuster on Netflix.

Fall debuted in Netflix’s top 10 most popular movies list and is closing in on the No. 1 slot.

That’s an impressive achievement for director and cowriter Scott Mann, who made the film for only $3 million.

Now, Watch With Us is sharing three reasons to watch Fall on Netflix right now, preferably from the comfort of your own home. But if you’re afraid of heights, this movie will only make that problem worse.

2025’s Best Thriller Is Now Streaming — and It Has an 84 Percent on Rotten Tomatoes

The Premise Is Terrifying

If someone in real life were to suggest something along the lines of the premise of Fall, most reasonable people wouldn’t go for it. That’s because climbing a 2,000-foot TV tower that’s set for demolition is an incredibly dangerous idea. Even if you make the trip all the way to the top, getting down could be very problematic.

That’s what happens to Becky Connor (Grace Caroline Currey) and Shiloh Hunter (Virginia Gardner) in this film. Becky is grieving her late husband, Dan (Scream 7‘s Mason Gooding), and Shiloh suggested spreading his ashes from on top of the TV tower as a YouTube video and a tribute. As you might have guessed, things go horribly wrong, leaving Shiloh and Becky trapped in the middle of nowhere with no one coming to rescue them. For some, the very idea of being stuck thousands of feet in the air is scarier than any horror movie could ever be.

The Lead Actors Carry the Movie

Aside from a minor supporting turn by Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Becky’s father, James Conner, almost the entire movie revolves  around its two leads, Currey and Gardner. Regardless of the poor decision-making skills displayed by their characters, Gardner and Currey are the glue that holds the movie together. The movie needed sympathetic characters for the audience to get behind, because the premise wouldn’t work if viewers were rooting against the leading ladies.

21 Must-Watch Thrillers on Netflix Right Now (February 2026)

Becky and Shiloh find themselves in survival mode pretty quickly as they run down their dwindling prospects for survival. Putting two characters through the same ordeal also allowed the story to feature a running dialogue between them. As time passes, certain secrets come out that may damage their friendship. But in their current position, they can’t simply run away from the problems they may have with each other. For better or worse, Becky and Shiloh are in this together to the end.

‘Fall’ Has an Unexpected — and Wild — Final Act

There won’t be a full spoiler breakdown of the ending in this post, because that would ruin the surprises ahead. It’s enough to say that Fall‘s third act goes for an audacious twist that makes the audience rethink some of the events that unfolded in the first two thirds of the story.

For some reviewers, that was where the movie went off the rails. But the wild twist does ratchet up the intensity to another level, especially when the prospects of survival are looking particularly grim. This film is a roller coaster thrill ride, and everyone should be glad that they don’t have to experience those heights first-hand.

Fall is streaming on Netflix.
