2026 Awards Season Style Forecast: Stars Set to Embrace Florals and Pastels

Considering the last few awards seasons were ruled by sleek silhouettes and monochrome moments, Us Weekly predicts 2026 is about to bloom with florals and pastels on the red carpet.

Stylists have been leaning into scene-stealing patterns and it would come as no surprise if several A-listers hit the upcoming ceremonies in bold and botanical numbers with the 32nd Annual Actors Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards), and the 98th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, up ahead.

Us speculates we will see serious petal power as well as intricate embroideries, perhaps oversized rosettes and fashion-forward, vintage-inspired fabrics. Stars seem ready to have some extra fun again in gowns that refuse to blend in.

Us also plans to see some delicate watercolor blossoms brought to life, with stars rocking gowns in butter yellow, powder blue, and pistachio green. After seasons of high-contrast drama, it could be just the time to embrace shades that feel sweet and fresh.

Take Jennifer Lawrence, for instance, who rocked a sheer floral Givenchy gown at the 2026 Golden Globes, pairing her chic look with an understated Longines watch. Her embroidered number was the talk of the town as it flashed just the right amount of skin.

Rent the Runway’s chief merchant officer Sarah Tam previously said that oversized floral prints are taking over in popularity compared to dainty styles. “Large-scale florals have unequivocally stolen the spotlight, with stand-out, grandiose floral designs that command attention,” Tam explained, per a CNN report in April 2025, noting that super feminine florals have also become a go-to.

5 Key Fashion Trends on the 2025 Oscars Red Carpet You May Have Missed

“This trend marries delicate flowers and intricate embroideries with an array of cascading ruffles and flutter-like sleeves, crafting silhouettes that are both romantic and whimsically modern,” Tam added.

Influencer and editor Audree Kate López also shared her take about the popular sartorial trend at the time, noting, “My rule of thumb with florals is to treat it almost as a neutral.”

López explained, “If you want to add color to the outfit, complement the print with pops of the color in the floral, or if you want to make the outfit feel more subdued, pair it with neutrals or a neutral monochromatic outfit.”

Every Celeb Looking Pretty in Pastel at the 2025 Grammys

Aimee Lou Wood put her own spin on the pastel trend when she commanded the red carpet at the 2026 BAFTA Awards on February 22, wearing a gorgeous off-the-shoulder blush-toned Emilia Wickstead gown styled by Felicity Kay, paired with Tiffany & Co jewelry for the special occasion.

Makeup artist @by.jackie_ was the mastermind behind the White Lotus star’s elegant glam at the BAFTAs, which consisted of soft eye makeup and a bold red lip, revealing her goal was a “timeless red carpet look enhanced with a contemporary twist.”

In order to achieve her tousled up do, they used Good Hair Day’s “Body Goals Volume Foam” and did a voluminous blow-dry to give her mane some extra lift before adding some of the brand’s shine spray.
