This fast-paced psychological thriller from 2018 was recently added to Netflix — and it’s already cracked the site’s top 10 chart.
10×10 stars Luke Evans and Yellowstone‘s Kelly Reilly, in a movie about a man who abducts a woman and imprisons her in a room in his home to extort information from her.
That premise alone makes it easy to see why the movie is currently trending on Netflix right now.
Watch With Us has three compelling reasons why 10×10 should be the next pick for your movie night.

The Tight Narrative Keeps the Audience Guessing
The plot of 10×10 centers on a seemingly ordinary man named Lewis (Evans), who kidnaps flower shop owner Cathy (Reilly) and holds her captive in a small, soundproofed room in his house. As the story unfolds, the reasons behind Lewis’ actions are gradually revealed as he tries to get Cathy to reveal a devastating secret from her past. Yet despite being a mere flower shop owner, Cathy consistently fights back at her abductor, which creates even more questions surrounding Lewis’ motivations and Cathy’s staunch resilience.
At only 88 minutes, 10×10 has no fat on its bones. It’s a lean, mean thriller that makes sure every minute of its scant runtime is used efficiently. 10×10 excels at having no unnecessary plot filler, giving audiences the exact information they need, exactly when they need it. Make no mistake, while being such a focused story, the movie is also shocking and twist-filled. It clips along from a shockingly violent opening scene to a final fight that will leave you breathless.
The Single-Location Concept Is Gripping
While the movie takes place mostly in a confined space, that doesn’t mean it’s boring. Quite the contrary — 10×10 exploits the single location to create tension through claustrophobia and fear. The movie begins with Cathy’s shocking abduction, as we have no understanding of why she has been kidnapped and why Lewis is intent on abusing her. As Lewis knocks her around, we are left frustratingly in the dark, but the slow reveal, tense atmosphere and tight space work together to keep us engaged, on edge and questioning everything.
As the minimalist setting ramps up the dread and intimacy for the audience, we too feel as if we are being locked in a soundproof room along with Cathy. The best kinds of thrillers make us feel the same creeping unease and vulnerability as the characters we’re watching. If you’re a fan of stripped-down, single-location psychological thrillers like Panic Room, Red Eye with Rachel McAdams, Green Room and Don’t Breathe, then 10×10 is a must-watch.
‘Yellowstone’ Star Kelly Reilly Gives One of Her Best Performances

Evans and Reilly do the majority of the heavy lifting in the performance department of 10×10, and they carry that burden with impressive aplomb. The two actors alternate between shifting identities as the movie progresses and more information about each of them is revealed. Evans and Reilly partake in a deft game of cat-and-mouse, as Evans portrays Lewis as a desperate and brutal man who has nevertheless met his match in Reilly’s performance. As Cathy, she goes toe-to-toe against Evans’ Lewis in a truly captivating battle of wits. If you’re a fan of Reilly’s work in the hit Western drama Yellowstone, you’ll like her here in 10×10 as her embattled heroine is just as strong — and dangerous — as Beth Dutton.

This back and forth climaxes with a riveting fight scene at the film’s conclusion, in which all identities and motivations have been revealed, and yet you may find yourself unsure of who to root for. The actors do a terrific job of balancing emotional depth, psychological tension and intense action, which makes for dynamic chemistry that parallels the kineticism of the film itself.
