Bangor City Hall is closing early Monday due to the snowstorm.

The city already is stopping public bus service early and declared a citywide parking ban.

City Hall will close at noon.

A winter storm bearing down on Maine on Monday is expected to create blizzard-like conditions from Greater Bangor to Down East Maine. The winds and snow will be heaviest during the afternoon and evening, when whiteout conditions are possible.

The storm is forecast to drop from 6 inches over Greater Bangor to more than a foot around Machias. Winds are expected to gust up to 50 mph.

City Hall will open at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
