Several of Maine’s hospitals now have a new owner.
Prime Healthcare Foundation is now the parent company of Central Maine Healthcare.
Prime Healthcare Foundation, a nonprofit based out of California, now controls Central Maine Medical Center, Bridgton Hospital, Rumford Hospital, and dozens more centers and practices in Maine.
The new owner said it will invest $150 million over the next five years to strengthen Central Maine Healthcare’s services, facilities and infrastructure.
The hospital system was hit with a data breach last year that affected more than 145,000 people.
