University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host a webinar on managing insect pests in cut flower production from 6-7:15 p.m. on Monday, March 2.
“Managing Pests in Cut Flowers” will help growers protect cut flower crops from pest damage that can lower quality and reduce sales. The session will be led by Jason Lilley, assistant Extension professor of sustainable agriculture and maple industry educator with University of Maine.
During the webinar, participants will learn about common insect pests that affect cut flowers and how to manage them. Topics will include prevention methods and basic guidelines for safe and effective pesticide use. Attendees are eligible for 1 Maine pesticide recertification credit.
The webinar is part of UMaine Extension’s Commercial Horticulture Webinar Series, held on the first Monday of each month.
