The high school basketball tournament officially tipped off from the Portland Expo on Friday with the girls Class B South quarterfinals, and the No. 4 vs. No. 5 matchup between Greely and Marshwood delivered a thriller.
Marshwood led by three in the fourth quarter when Renee St. Pierre scored off the window for two. Greely answered with a long 3-pointer from Avery Bush to tie the game at 43.
With time winding down in regulation, Marshwood’s Natalie Lathrop hit a 3 at the buzzer to lift the Hawks to a 46-43 win and a spot in the semifinals.
