Portland residents can expect to find red paper hearts and banners plastered across the city Saturday, evidence that the Valentine Bandit has struck again.
Kevin Fahrman was revealed as the bandit after he died in 2023. His daughter, Sierra, said she has handed the tradition off to a new bandit who wants to keep it anonymous
“I think now, more than ever, when I look at the world today with all of the hate and negativity we see, that people are really clutching on to those moments of positivity, love, and community,” Fahrman said.
Fahrman said she established a foundation when her dad died to celebrate all of the good things her father did for numerous causes.
“I established the foundation to humanize him again from this mystic being or hero figure to say that beyond doing the Bandit that that was who he was in all facets of his life,” Fahrman said.

She said the foundation raised $13,000 that was distributed to five nonprofits that Kevin devoted time to: SailMaine, Rippleffect, Maine Academy of Modern Music, Friends of Fort Gorges and The Hill Arts.
Fahrman said the foundation has since been dissolved.
