From the BDN’s “Today In History” column of Feb. 10: “In 1936 Nazi Germany’s Reichstag passed a law investing the Gestapo secret police with absolute authority, exempt from any legal review.”
Sounds perilously close to what our country is experiencing with ICE today. If you do not think ICE is above the law, listen to the testimony of Todd Lyons, the acting director of ICE who stated in front of a congressional committee hearing “… anyone who thinks you can try to intimidate us, you will fail.”
ICE has become a law unto themselves and no one or any government agency should ever be above the law.
