
BANGOR — The Bangor Chinese School, in collaboration with the Maine Discovery Museum, is proud to present the 2026 Lunar New Year Celebration on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Maine Discovery Museum in downtown Bangor.
This vibrant, family-friendly event invites the greater Bangor community to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse through an engaging morning of cultural performances, hands-on activities, and festive traditions.
Guests will enjoy:

• Calligraphy demonstrations
• Cultural crafts
• Tea tasting
• Holiday Chinese food available for purchase
The celebration is designed to provide children and families with meaningful opportunities to explore and experience Chinese culture in an interactive and welcoming environment. All activities are included with regular museum admission; holiday food will be available for an additional fee.

The event will highlight the spirit of the Lunar New Year with the traditional greeting “新年好” (Happy New Year) and festive décor symbolizing “福 ” good fortune and renewal.
Bangor Chinese School, also known as the Chinese Language & Culture Center, has long served the community by offering Chinese language instruction and cultural programming for students of all ages.
