If I’m being perfectly honest, covering the housing market in Maine involves hearing a lot of bad news.
Climbing prices, high interest rates and sometimes scarce inventory has made buying a home in Maine more challenging than ever. Because of this, people are becoming homeowners later in life and search for months or years for something that meets their needs while still being within budget.
But, we know success stories are still happening — if you look hard enough. People are still becoming first-time homebuyers, moving due to growing families or changing needs, and successfully downsizing.
We want to hear the stories of Mainers who have found creative ways to buy a home in this market, especially a first home.
Maybe you bought a multi-family home and rented out the other units to pay the mortgage. Or perhaps you’re still on the hunt for your dream home.
Whatever your story may be, I want to hear about it. If you’re interested in sharing, email me at [email protected].
