Candace Cameron Bure was not shy about giving her kids the birds and the bees talk.
“I had very open conversations with my kids, when they got older, about sex,” Cameron Bure, 49, said in Us Weekly’s exclusive clip from this week’s episode of “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast,” set to be released on Tuesday, February 10.
Cameron Bure said she “grossed them out all the time” with the discussions.
“They were trapped in a car and I’m like, ‘Guess what we’re gonna talk about?!’” she joked. “You can’t escape.”

The Full House alum continued, “I kind of loved talking about that with them because I wanted them to know that it was safe.”
Cameron Bure clarified that she was not “super comfortable” discussing sex with her kids, but wanted it to be a safe space for them.
“I made it as fun as possible, and like I was comfortable talking about it just so there would be no embarrassment or shame in those conversations,” she explained. “I think that shame can start very much with that if we’re not really told about our bodies and how they function, how they work, what they’re made for. How God views them.”
She concluded, “When there’s a misunderstanding there, that can very much develop our view of shame and when we feel that way.”
Cameron Bure shares kids Natasha, 27, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 24, with husband Valeri Bure. Two of her three kids are married, but have yet to start families of their own. (Lev married Elliot Dunham in January 2024 while Natasha married Bradley Steven Perry in September 2025.)

Cameron Bure told Us exclusively late last year how she played a major role in her only daughter’s wedding.
“She didn’t have a wedding coordinator, so I got to be the person she bounced ideas off,” the actress gushed. “It was so much fun for me!”
Throughout her time in the public eye, Cameron Bure has not been shy when it comes to discussing her kids’ romantic lives. She discussed their respective relationship during a 2019 interview with Us.

“I feel great about them dating in the sense that they have a good head on their shoulders,” she shared at the time. “They’re all looking for good people to hang out with, or date, looking for a wife, looking for a husband and I’m proud of that.”
At the time Natasha hadn’t brought anyone home yet. This has, of course, since changed. The actress joked, “I wish that they would date more in a sense. That sounds so weird!”
During the same interview, Cameron Bure gushed about the close relationship she has with her kids.
“My kids are young adults and teenagers and I’m OK in their eyes,” she said. “They don’t mind hanging out with me. I don’t care if I’m cool in their eyes, but the fact that they actually enjoy hanging out and want to be my friend is, like, the biggest win for me ever.”
New episodes of “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast” drop on Tuesdays.
