Andrew moves out of Royal Lodge – as police assess new allegation

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has moved out of Royal Lodge, palace sources have said, as part of a permanent move to Norfolk.

He is currently living in a house on the Sandringham Estate, but will move again in the coming months once final arrangements have been made.

The former royal had lived in the 30-room mansion on the Windsor Estate for more than 30 years.

It comes as police assess a claim that a woman was sent by Epstein to Andrew at the lodge in 2010.

Andrew vehemently denies all allegations against him.

Politics latest: Tories attempt to force release of Mandelson vetting papers – as police confirm investigation

Tories to push for Mandelson vetting papers release

The Conservatives will table a humble address to force the government to release all information relating to the appointment of Peter Mandelson as ambassador to the US.

The Metropolitan Police announced on Tuesday it has launched a criminal investigation into misconduct in public office offences after files released by US authorities appeared to show Mandelson had passed internal UK government documents to Jeffrey Epstein.

Mandelson, who also stepped down from the House of Lords last night, was business secretary in Gordon Brown’s government at the time.

Drones delivering drugs and weapons to prisons

The governor of HMP Manchester tells Sky News specialised gangs are using drones to “beat” the system and get contraband into prisons across the UK.

Increasingly sophisticated technology is being used to get weapons and drugs to inmates, with maintenance backlogs and budget underspends being blamed on security at prisons being left “vulnerable”.

Rob Knight tells Sky News organised gangs are focused on providing the contraband and are making a “lot of money from doing it”.

Bold and ambitious new cancer strategy

Sky News health correspondent Ashish Joshi says the new strategy can’t afford to be anything else.

Today the government will publish its 10-year plan – with the goal of three out of every four people diagnosed with the disease living well or cured within five years of that diagnosis.

Drive to recruit 10,000 foster carers launched

An ambitious £88m government plan is aiming to reverse a long-term decline in support for vulnerable children by the end of the next parliament.

Under the proposals, fostering would be opened up to younger and more diverse households and better support will be offered to prevent people leaving the system.

But carers tell Sky News the crisis goes deeper than just recruitment.

What’s in the papers?

The Met Police investigation into Peter Mandelson dominates the news coverage.

What’s happening in sport?

Manchester City and Newcastle go toe-to-toe for the right to face Arsenal in the League Cup final at Wembley at the Etihad tonight. City lead 2-0 after the first leg of their semi-final.

The Gunners won 1-0 on the night against Chelsea in their semi-final, going through 4-2 on aggregate.
