Chappell Roan walked the 2026 Grammys red carpet in one of the most daring looks of the night.
The “Hot to Go!” singer, 27, turned heads in a sheer red gown fastened to nipple rings on her bare chest while posing for photos at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1. The dress draped low on her body and showed off her intricate back tattoo. Roan completed the look with a burgundy-colored thong, a matching sheer cape with gold accents at the collar and a pair of strappy black heels.
Roan is nominated at the 2026 Grammys for both Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her song “The Subway.” She is also slated to present at the ceremony, joining Karol G, Teyana Taylor, Charli XCX, Queen Latifah and more who are handing out awards.
Roan previously won her first Grammy for Best New Artist in 2025. She was also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year for her debut studio album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Album for her song “Good Luck, Babe!”

“I told myself that if I ever won a Grammy and got to stand up here before the most powerful people in music, I would demand that labels in the industry profiting millions of dollars off of artists would offer a livable wage and health care, especially to developing artists,” she said in her acceptance speech last year. “I got signed so young — I got signed as a minor. When I got dropped, I had zero job experience under my belt, and like most people, I had… quite a difficult time finding a job in the pandemic and [could not] afford insurance.”
Roan continued, “It was devastating to feel so committed to my art and feel so betrayed by the system and dehumanized. If my label had prioritized it, I could have been provided care for a company I was giving everything to. Record labels need to treat their artists as valuable employees with a livable wage and health insurance and protection.”
Roan is known for making a splash at awards shows. She went viral at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards for clapping back at a photographer who seemingly told her to “shut the f*** up.”
“You shut the f**k up!” she shouted back. “Don’t! Not me, bitch!”
The musician later explained the tense moment in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“This is quite overwhelming and quite scary,” she told the outlet. “I think for someone who gets a lot of anxiety around people yelling at you … the carpet is horrifying, and I yelled back. You don’t get to yell at me like that.”

Roan also confronted a photographer at the October 2024 premiere of Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour concert film, telling them that they were allegedly “rude” to her at a past awards show.
“You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys,” she told the photographer, as seen in footage shared via social media at the time. “You yelled at me at the Grammy party. At the Universal after-party. I remember.”
